A native Texan, Bruce Douthit has practiced in the Frisco area since 1992. He is a board
certified orthopedic surgeon who received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health
Science Center in Houston, Texas. He completed his residency at UTHSC as well, and received
Sports Medicine fellowship training in San Diego, California, where he served as one of the
Team Physicians for the San Diego Chargers. More specifically, after medical school,
internship, and a five-year orthopedic surgery residency, Dr. Douthit elected to gain
additional training in his chosen sub-specialty, Sports Medicine. While he is an orthopedic
surgeon, able to diagnose and treat all diseases and injuries of the musculosketal system, he
specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of overuse and traumatic injuries of the knee and
shoulder. Dr. Douthit's undergraduate degree is from Baylor University.
He has served as Team Physician for many local high schools and more recently was chosen as
Team Physician for the Frisco Thunder, Frisco's only professional football team. He and his
wife, Susan, have three children.

Steve Michelsen is a native to Texas. He is one of seven siblings and was raised in the the Hurst-Euless-Beford area. After completing undergraduate school at Austin College in Sherman, Texas he attended medical school at the University of Des Moines. It was during medical school in Iowa that Steve met his wife, Lauren Michelsen.
After graduating from medical school in 1996 Steve chose to pursue a medical career in Surgery. After three years of General surgery training at Kern Medical Center in California he decided to further specialize into Orthopedic Surgery. He was able to train in orthopedic surgery at two of the busiest county hospitals in California; Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and Riverside County Regional Medical Center. Upon completing his orthopedic surgery residency he was anxious to return home to Texas.
He moved with his wife and two young children, Joshua and Carli to Frisco, Texas in October of 2003. He began to practice with his current partner Dr. Bruce Douthit that same year. Upon his return to Texas, Steve became the Team Physician for Centennial High school. You can see him along the side lines at almost every game (surgeries pending).
He and his partner have currently taken on the position of Team Physicians for the newcomer "Frisco Thunder", arena football team for Frisco. Steve enjoys all that North Texas has to offer. He participates in many community activities and mostly enjoys time with his family. Steve is a huge sports fan and encourages his children to participate in the many sporting activities in the area.
